Mindfulness

The most important thing about Mindfulness was just being focused and calm and not being distracted in that moment of mindfulness.

I liked just being calm  because it was nice and relaxing after all the school work that we do during the day.

The most interesting thing to me was that Jan Carey told us to use this when we are nervous or in distress and a lot of things like that.

I thought practicing mindfulness would be boring but it turned out to be quite helpful.  It’s helpful because when I’m nervous, it helps me to breathe.

It has helped me because when I’m under a lot of pressure its good to use it to relax you and just breathe.

Growth Mindset Day reflection

If you have a disability, it dosent mean you can’t do everyday normal things.  You just need to have a growth mindset and push through all the hard challenges like our guest speaker Jo Blesing.

My teacher Mr Pastro taught us how to juggle.  First he showed us a video of Mr Pastro and a teacher in my school Mr March.  He told us if you can’t do it, just keep trying and don’t have a fixed mindset.

I did a canvas of a growth mindset quote and i chose “Stop thinking about the things that could go wrong and start thinking about the things that could go right”.

Another one of our teachers called Mr Collagrosi taught us how to use Garage Band on the computers and I made a really good song with really good beats.

Mr Colagrossi taught us the alphabet in sign language and then we played a game called Walk the Plank.  It was a teamwork game.

Growth Mindset relates to mathematics, because if you have a math problem you need to start with a growth mindset and believe you can do it.

Class map

Last term our class started drawing 30x smaller drawing of the class room for our new furniture I worked with my partner Sebastian.  We looked up furniture on a site called Furnware and picked out some things that we like and put them on our map of the class.

The cockroaches

Here is a story I wrote last week for our buddy class.

The Cockroaches

Once there was a boy named Timmy.  Timmy was a normal boy with a normal life. He woke up on a Sunday morning and walked quietly through the house because he didn’t want to wake his parents up.

He went to rest on the couch to watch Adventure Time, his favorite all time cartoon, when an army of cockroaches came from under the couch!  Well, he might have been exaggerating a little bit because it was only three… but it was pretty scary at the time.

He jumped on the couch screaming in a girly voice, ”Get away! Get away!”

Then the cockroaches went back under the couch so he continued to watch TV again. Then the cockroaches came back but this time with some friends and started taking everything in the house.

He thought he was dreaming so Timmy went to bed but Timmy had no bed because the cockroaches stole it and he started screaming “Why ,why cockroaches?”

At this point you guys, the readers of this story, can probably tell Timmy hates cockroaches.   Ok now.  Let’s continue with the story.

“The cockroaches are taking over the house and are making me do all the work,” but Timmy was not going to work, so Timmy  pulled out a huge laser cannon to vaporize them because he was too scared to hit them.

He shot at them with the cannon, but he missed, so the cockroaches began to charge at him.  Timmy ran outside because he was so scared and then the cockroaches locked the house.

Timmy realized that the cockroaches left all the stuff that they took  outside where he was so he had an idea. He decided on what he had to do.  He put all the stuff  in their shed with one thousand bug bombs, so all the cockroaches went outside to go get the stuff but then they got a surprise. The bug bombs went off and they all died.
